e25: SPECIAL EVENT: Art in the Age of AI

Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025

18:30-20:00 GMT (London, UK) • 1:30-3:00pm EST (North America, Eastern)

Join us for our first Creative Minds Reading Club session of 2025, where we'll explore the fascinating intersection of artificial intelligence and human creativity through both artistic and scientific lenses.

We are delighted to welcome two distinguished guests who will share their unique perspectives on AI generative art.

Maria Than, DALL·E 2022-06-29 10.18.34

  • 🎨 Maria Than is a Viet-British-French creative technologist, artist, educator, and activist. As co-founder of the award-winning design company Ricebox Studio, she harnesses augmented reality, creative AI, and illustration to explore profound themes of identity, mental health, Buddhism, and escapism.

  • 🔬 Theresa Demmer, a psychology researcher at the University of Vienna, brings her expertise in studying emotions and perceptions of AI versus human-created art. Her research delves into how these differences shape our aesthetic experiences and fundamentally influence our understanding of art.

The session will feature presentations from both speakers, followed by an interactive Q&A and group discussion. This is a unique opportunity to engage with both the practical and theoretical dimensions of AI in creative practice.

Join us for what promises to be an enlightening exploration of creativity in the age of artificial intelligence!

This meeting has passed, but we would love for you to join us next time!
