What is Curious Minds Reading Club?

Who we are:

  • The Creativity Research Network (CRN) is a group of early-career psychology and neuroscience researchers, students, and practicing creative professionals that aim to cultivate a community of individuals interested in exploring and building bridges between the arts and sciences.

  • Curious Minds Reading Club is our journal club!

How our meetings work:

  1. Each month, we will read an article (typically published within the past few years) on a topic across the psychology/neuroscience of creativity, arts, or aesthetics.

  2. We gather on Zoom to discuss, debate, and explore the ideas the selected paper inspires in an open and welcoming space.

  3. We begin each meeting with a brief introduction to the chosen article, and then we’ll open it up for discussion. It is completely alright if you did not read the article before our meeting.

  4. We post links and related information for each meeting here: CRN: Reading Club

Who can attend?

  • Our readings skew academic; however, we HIGHLY encourage people from creative backgrounds who are curious and looking to explore practices and experiences from a more scientific perspective and would like to share your expertise!

  • Feel free to invite your colleagues and friends. We believe that diverse perspectives will enrich our discussions.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions and we would love to hear your ideas for future meetings.  ☺︎
